Currency of the data

The information is for the most recent year when a return was received from the local authority. Currently that is 2006 for the large majority of local authorities but it is sometimes 2005, and in a few cases 2003 or 2002. The year is shown on the data and the information is for 31 st March in that year. Information is not available for a small number of local authorities .

The information on this web site is for vacant land and buildings, derelict land, and for land currently in use and allocated for redevelopment in a local plan or with outstanding planning permission. The website does not supply any information on sites currently in use with known potential for redevelopment, but no planning permission or allocation in a local plan.
