Communities and Local Goverment has brought the policy drivers, e.g. accommodating household growth and sustainable use of land, which justify the development of NLUD-PDL as a data source which is important for Government. Communities and Local Government also provides statistical expertise in processing the survey, publishing results work and acting as a focus of interest for other Government departments. In the past it has funded research for NLUD-Baseline (the survey publishing results) and maintains an interest in the project.

Great Britain in collecting, collating, quality assuring, maintaining, developing
and marketing geographically related information integrated at a national level.
It also has a proven track record in research in all aspects of land use mapping and is currently carrying forward the work on NLUD-Baseline.
